4/28/09: My wife, Mary joined this group first and when I saw what she was doing with it, I decided to join too, She is an amazingly strong person with how she is dealing with Morgellons and how it has changed our lives. Several years ago at a time when she was having great difficulty with the symptoms caused by Morgellons and I had very few symptoms, we were experiencing repeated disappointments with the way that the medical community was treating us, virtually robbing us of our limited finances and not helping at all, I told her that I would take care of things around the house so that she could just focus on learning about how to get over this condition.
To study specimens that we find from our bodies and in our home environment, she has progressed from a small hand-held microscope from Radio Shack to her current medical grade digital microscope with photo/video capabilities with which she has produced some amazing videos.
Our symptoms have evolved from one strange thing to another. Just as we thought we had turned the corner and were on our way to recovery, something new would emerge and take us down again. Several times we said to each other that maybe we didn't have Morgellons at all, that all indications were that we had some kind of identifiable (thus treatable)parasite. After several life-cycle changes like this, and as we learned more through websites like this one, we realized that all of these symptoms were just a part of how the Morgellons organism seems to work. Through all of this, we have remained committed to each other and to regaining our health and lives beyond struggling with Morgellons.
Mary and I will continue to share our experiences in the hopes that it might help someone who has just recently started this journey and is feeling the hopelessness that we've felt over time. We also hope that maybe something we've documented might just help the researchers make a breakthrough and conquer this for all of us.
